We’re very excited to announce our first FMT for Multiple Sclerosis Success Story. Thanks Carlos for being willing to openly share your story with others – and a big “well done” to the team at Taymount Clinic in the UK who provided the integrated, holistic approach to healing.
Where do you live?
Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
How old are you?
What percentage recovered are you?
What was your diagnosis and what treatments did you try before FMT?
Multiple Sclerosis. Treatment has been diet changes, Vitamin D treatment, glutathione infusions, B-12 injections.
When did you have your first and last FMT treatment?
September 15th and 26th 2014.
How many FMT treatments did you need to see initial results and the results you have today?
After the 2nd treatment I saw results. I had 10 total treatments.
Does your condition still need maintenance eg diet, supplements, medication etc to keep it in remission?
I continue on a Paleo diet. It has been a complete dietary change.
How and when did you first hear of FMT?
First of heard of it was in June, 2014.
What factors did you take into account when deciding to do FMT?
Understanding that the symptoms of my body were due to a problem in the digestive system. Doing the FMT I received trillions of new good bacteria that would restore my digestive health, allowing my digestive system to re-myelinate.
What criteria did you use to choose a donor?
The donors are all chosen by the Taymount clinic in UK.
What was your FMT experience like?
Everyone at the Taymount clinic was wonderful. The experience was wonderful.
What was your darkest moment when you were ill?
I was having a hard time walking, even using a cane.
What sustained you throughout?
What are the top 3 things you most enjoy about your post-FMT life?
1. Walking much better.
2. Lots more energy.
3. Normal digestive system. Regular bowel movements.
What advice do you have for others to deal with the fear and (perceived) risk about FMT, in the face of skepticism from treating doctors, friends and family?
I can only speak about my personal experience at the Taymount clinic. The treatment was very quick and simple, without any negative side-effects. The improvement has been wonderful.
What advice do you have for someone trying to make a decision about FMT?
Don’t doubt it. It will help your digestive system heal, and your body get in balance, allowing you to heal.
